Forty Days of Psalms

A little over an hour ago, I announced on Twitter that from April 6 through May 15, we will be a place for all to explore Psalm 119.
I am beginning my exploration today, as my dad knows the etymology of these things and I don't.
I joked on Twitter that it (Psalm 119) is the long one. It truly is long at 176 verses.

A few days ago, I posted a message on my Tumblr from the UCG and their message included a link to Free Bible Study Guides. When I visited their site, the verse at the top of the page at that moment was Psalm 119:105 (Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.). As I often do, I looked the passage up on a Bible passage look-up site. I opted for the King James Version and started reading. I read it in my Bible. I shared it with friends. Now, I have to delve deeper. I have questions and I see the treasure in this psalm that needs to be grown and flourished in our hearts. It says in verse 11, Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Last night, I thought about the number 40. Forty days and forty nights of fasting, of flooding or of floating around the wilderness, God uses this number to prepare us for things ahead, getting rid of old ways and purging the land, breaking what puffs itself up and increasing those godly traits within. I really view it as a cleansing number.

Therefore, for the next forty days, Jesus Walks With Me will be searching through Psalm 119!!
