Above all, God is love and His Spirit gives joy and His Word gives life

Take time to turn off the television (and music and other entertainment) and, in said time, do all that you've put off, and maintain a mindset of worshiping all the while. We have but so much time left. Life on this earth is short anyway but especially in these "great and terrible" last days. It doesn't need to be so terrible! Devote all time to God in heart, soul, mind, spirit, truth, strength. Be somebody and don't let your name die. Make memories by working hard, loving God & others and doing better every single day. Keeping yourself filled with the Spirit, have joy, peace and righteousness. Ours is but filthy rags. God is in control. Give God your all, lay it out. What He has to give is far greater!

I Deem you to Move and Be Still

We have probably all, at one time or another, felt the way I did when I expressed the following sentiments so let's share and add encouraging words to follow.

-- "Am I wrong for not even trying, wrong for not wanting to be bothered? I get stressed and I do get overwhelmed and I feel careless and selfish and worthless and what's left at the end of it all..after the shell of human shallowness has been broken what always was and always will be and that's You and me." --

God doesn't just want work done "in His name" but for His name to be written on our hearts and our names in His Book!! It all starts at the cross, on our knees, in our spiritual relationship with Him. Let the joy of the Lord be our strength so that we will not grow weary in well doing and will not faint but will reap in the end. His yoke is easy and burden is light and we are to take up our cross daily and be laborers for Christ. Just as we have died to sin through faith in Him, we reap resurrection in Him. He wants His beautiful Bride.

A New Season of life

First, let me tell you why any of this is important:
As a Christian, we should all care when it comes to sickness and health. Healing is a big part of the New Testament of the Bible as we read that Jesus healed multitudes just about everywhere He'd go and now, post-resurrection, we can all claim healing in His name and speak it into others' lives.

As far everything else I am going to say, I just wanted to share God's love being expressed through these triumphs in my life because we should only boast about what He has done to us as our righteousness is as filthy rags. I am sharing with you opportunities in this post that I found today and I hope you can take interest in them.

On September the 1st, 2010 (wow, 2 weeks!), I am finally starting my college classes to become a middle school English teacher. Financial aid information led me to research scholarships again, as I did way back in high school. I came across a few that I am determined to pursue. At, I found a woman's scholarship, a minorities' scholarship and a blogging scholarship. Once I start school and accumulate my GPA, I am set. All I need to do otherwise is write an essay for each scholarship entry. See, FAFSA is just one part because school is an investment, an expense.

The blogging scholarship mentions nominating a friend with a blog if you don't have one yourself and that got me thinking! How many of us rely on blogs to cheer us up, inform us, entertain us, keep us feeling sociable and motivate us? There have to be many blogs that you have come across and thought, 'Wow, this person is doing special things here.' I know I've come across many blogs and bloggers just like that! Who would you nominate? Go to the link and do so at your next opportunity, why don't you??

Reading about past winners of the blogging scholarship brought me to Now, I have always thought they had cool items to buy on thebreastcancersite, thehungersite, etcetera but never had the money. Well, I do now! I saw items on thebreastcancersite that say they fund 1% of a mammogram. For a minute, I took that to mean that 1% of the purchase funds mammograms but that, according to its wording, cannot be so. Either way, check it all out for yourself and see a few of my faves below (most of these items are geared toward women but please remember that breast cancer does affect both genders and that even if a man is without cancer and even if you, regardless of your gender, never have had the disease and don't know anyone who has had breast cancer, it's more than okay to support health and recovery from it through purchasing these products for yourself or for someone else)!

Patterns of the unchanging God

Through all of the noises of life, His voice can be heard and His sheep know His voice. We often see life as a series of immediate needs to take care of and long-term goals and commitments to pursue. In actuality, there are things that are always and things that are temporal. The amount of attention we give to building a relationship with God, who is always, will determine how other, temporary things will happen. Speaking of giving attention, let's think about what "interest" means. Interest builds, like when you deposit an amount into a bank. We have to devote our interest to spiritual matters if we want to truly live a godly life. We may feel overwhelmed by earthly problems but this only happens when we allow ourselves to be blinded by what we see instead of calling things that be not as though they were. We have a high calling and Jesus commanded us to do great things. His bloodshed doesn't stop with us (the Bible says God is not willing that any should perish) so even though it's a personal relationship when we enter into salvation, we are dead wrong to close our spirituality off into a corner of our beings! More important than this life is His life. We need to step in it always. When we are stepping in it, we are in step with God. It's time that the weak stand through the rain. As Donnie McClurkin sang in "Stand," we have to "Stand/Don't you give up /Through the storm, through the rain/ Through the hurt, through the pain." When we line up our actions with God, He is our up-line to a higher plain. When we step up and do what He said, we up-step every naysayer, anyway. We are touched within when we remain in touch with Him.
